INTP is one of the 16 personality types chalked out by the Myers-Briggs personality test.
What is the INTP type?
INTP personality type is differentiated based on the four cognitive functions: introverted, intuitive, thinking, and perceiving. They are known to have enhanced intellectual skills, which is mainly why people refer to this personality type as the logician.
INTPs have exceptional analytical skills, are out of the box thinkers, are highly logical and outstandingly creative.
They refuel themselves by spending time on their own and don’t believe in planning and being organized; they are the more spontaneous and creative kinds. They come across as very unconventional and offbeat in their ways of working.
Some famous INTP personality types include Albert Einstein, Kristen Stewart, Charles Darwin, Socrates, and Marie Curie.
Since INTP are a bit eccentric in their demeanour, their interactions and relationships with other personality types have always been an interesting topic to discuss. Let’s have a look at how they perceive people from various personality types:
Personality types most similar to INTP:
INTJ, INFP and ENTP personality types have largely similar attributes. They tend to share general values and interests in life, which makes an INTP’s interactions mostly pleasant. However, they are all extraordinarily opinionated and have strong beliefs, which can create a bit of a ruffle in their interactions with INTJ, INFP, and ENTP.
Personality types with some differences:
ISTP, INFJ, ENTJ, ENFP, commonly known as the craftsmen, the counsellor, the commander, and the champion, respectively, have similar basic personality traits but some interesting differences that come across as appealing to INTPs.
A perfect balance exists between their similarities and differences, giving both parties an opportunity for a healthy challenge. This makes for an intriguing interaction between INTPs and the others that fall in this particular group of personalities.
Personality types that are complementary to INTP:
These four personality types have some extremely important character traits in common with the INTP personality type; however, more often than not, in the first few interactions, these are not displayed and may not be as easygoing. Once people with these personalities get to know each other better, they realize the similarities and the fact that they complement each other. Eventually, the interactions become much more amiable. These complimenting personality types are ISTJ, ISFP, ESTP, and ENFJ, commonly known as the inspector, composer, dynamo, and teacher.
Personality types that are stark opposites of INTP:
They may be poles apart from one another, but if people with the INTP personality type decide to come to a mutual understanding with ISFJ, ESTJ, ESFP and ESFJ, they can become each other’s strength. Popularly known as the protector, the supervisor, the performer, and the provider have completely different fundamental values, but also that means that where INTPs lack, these guys win. They can complement the INTP, as their strengths would be an INTP’s weakness! Their initial interactions may not be the friendliest, and however, after understanding the other’s ideologies against their own, it could take a turn for the better.
