They may be quiet and reserved, but they have immense focus and can work in isolation for hours on end. An introvert’s power of concentration is highly underestimated by most; however, the constant influx of emails, zoom calls and constant back and forth communication with the rest of the team and clients can lead to major distractions, even for the best.

Especially in recent times, with covid turning around everyone’s routines and schedules, it has become more difficult for people to find their peace or centre themselves.
And that brings us back to the question; of what introverts can do to keep up their level of productivity. Most of it requires an introvert to do things that will keep their energy level charged instead of burnout.
Begin the day with some calm: This not only applies to introverts but everyone working in this fast-paced world. Do not start your morning by checking various social media platforms, as tempting as it may be. Social media has been known for inducing anxiety in people, so just imagine the damage it can do if you begin your day scrolling up and down mindless posts that are not even relevant to your life!
Start with the most challenging tasks: Getting the most challenging tasks out of your way early in the day is a great way of maintaining the much-deserved calm in your life. The energy and enthusiasm level is usually the highest in the first half of the day, so it only makes sense to make the most of it. You can leave the more cumbersome and mundane tasks for the second half of the day.
Take breaks: Do not wait to reach a point of burnout to take a break. Coming back from extreme exhaustion is rather demotivating, so it’s best to take a break before you reach it. Make sure to take a break away from your desk and workstation.
Exercise regularly: Exercising releases endorphins, and endorphins are essential. Engaging in some sort of workout has improved a person’s mood and made them more productive. A lot of people who have a lot on their plate, work-wise, think of exercise as wasting time, as opposed to an important investment for their own mental health and of those around them.
Block distractions: Distractions are all around you, but you have to make an active effort not to let them derail off your tasks of the day. Unsubscribing off irrelevant mails and alerts is a good starting point. Make a list of your TTD the night before and check them off before you go to bed. This helps in avoiding unnecessary stress.
Unwind: Unwind and Unplug! Should be the key words for keeping your sanity intact. When not at work, you must disconnect from all kinds of social media and check emails and Whatsapp messages. Whenever possible, try to do a digital detox for at least a day to start with. These are some great ways to clear your head and come back to work with a rejuvenated mind and body.
